While opening accounts of illiterate blinds/visionary impaired persons, their joint accounts with one of their close literate relatives or any other literate person as per the wish of the illiterate blind/visionary impaired person may be preferred but should not be insisted upon. However, in the event of his/her insistence for opening his/her A/C independently, he/she may be allowed with the condition that he/she will personally visit our branch and will put his/her thumb impression in the presence of the Manager/Operation Manager/ officer who will attest the same.
All other instructions as mentioned above for the accounts of illiterate persons shall be meticulously followed.Other documents/papers as required in the guidelines issued by the SBP in Prudential Regulation No. M-I must be obtained. In case of payment of cheques of heavy amounts, one Officer (Other than Cash Paying Officer) of the branch and another person then escorting the blind will put their signatures on the back of the paid cheques as witness. In case blind/visionary impaired person visit the branch with the help of white stick alone, then the Manager/2ND Officer will sign as witness on the back of the paid cheque in addition to the Officer as stated above.
